Mission/Objective

Process engineering is focused on maintaining optimal conditions during the production process. This includes ensuring a safe working environment, delivering high-quality products/process, and achieving high performance levels. It requires a multidisciplinary approach and good communication to identify gaps in the process, using problem-solving methodology, and proposing solutions for improvements, and technological innovations. To achieve these goals, process engineers follow guidelines from industry standards such as OSHA, IATF, MOS, and Others.

Responsibilities: Function/Accountability

· Comply with Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems guidelines (Responsibilities and authorities) currently applicable for the area and the entire plant.

· Ensure that current processes are safe and ergonomic for team members.

· Comply with the internal control guidelines of your area (audit and update practices and procedures). Respond to internal and external audits.

· Review and take actions to optimize process capacity.

· Seek continuous process improvement (productivity and profitability) through the application of engineering principles (Process redesign, new technologies, etc.)

· Create, update, and execute manufacturing standards. (JSA, PFMEA, Control Plan – With Quality, Work Instructions, etc.) - For this position will be required the CQI9 - Special Process: heat Treatment System Assessment 4th Edition

· Provide response to the shopfloor need in process abnormalities (T-cards process)

· Process performance monitoring, problem identification, analyze causes and solve operation problems (safety, quality, productivity, waste, and savings) using problem-solving methodology.

· Coordinate (lead meetings) with specialty teams to solve problems, and carry out improvement projects and engineering changes.

· Research new technologies and develop new applications to the processes that may improve overall performance

· Collaborate, lead, or support in the design/implementation of new products, engineering changes, or processes

Education & Experience:

· Certified Mechanical Engineer or Industrial Engineering desirable.

· TPS, LEAN* Certification.

· Metallurgical Certification.

· CQI-9 Certification.

· Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry, working in Roll forming, Plasma Cut, and Heat Treatment of HSLA Steel for frame rails of commercial vehicles in manufacturing.

Technical Skills:

· Lean manufacturing

· Manufacturing Processes

· Project management

· Metallurgic knowledge

· Certified CQI-9 (desired)

· 2D software drawing (Drawing, Read, etc.)

· Geometric and Dimensional Tolerancing (desired)

· Tools for Problem-solving.

· Core Tools (control plan, FMEA, etc)
