Methodist Home for Children is a 501(c)(3) that works to ensure safe, nurturing homes for children while working to eradicate the social and family problems that lead to abuse, neglect, family disruption and abandonment. We provide community-based services for children and families throughout North Carolina. We partner with public agencies to serve children in crisis and we raise private funds to ensure that we can deliver the best in evidence-based services.

We are currently seeking a Program Manager for our Lumberton, NC Multipurpose Home.

FIRST THINGS FIRST... WHAT IS A MULTIPURPOSE HOME?

Multipurpose homes are residential facilities for youth. Residency in our multipurpose homes has been proven to interrupt lifetime criminal behavior for Level II repeat juvenile offenders. MHC staff implement a model of care that teaches teens to change problem behaviors and attitudes, expand their skills and recover from setbacks and mistakes.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM MANAGER DO?

The Program Manager is responsible for the on-site administration and supervision of program operations of the assigned group home. Responsibilities include programmatic supervision of the group home, as well as management of the home's budget, staff, delivery of program services, coordination of volunteers, and relationships with service professionals, clients and their families, neighbors of the home and the general community.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED?

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college. A degree in a human services field is preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with client population
  • Previous supervisory experience of child-care workers is highly preferred. Direct care experience with adolescents and their families is also preferred.

Paid Holidays: MHC gives full-time employees paid holidays each year.
Vacation Leave: First partial calendar year of hire is pro-rated at 10 days (80 hours) per year
Sick Leave: Paid sick leave is accumulated at 12 days (96 hours) per calendar year. All unused sick leave will carry over into the next calendar year.

Dependent Care Flex Plan: Employees can utilize the optional Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) tax-free reimbursement program for their eligible dependent care expenses.
Life Insurance: Term life insurance is provided by MHC for full-time staff in the amount of 1x the employee’s annual salary. Supplemental life insurance is available for individual or family coverage.
Workers’ Compensation: This agency-paid benefit covers on-the-job injury.
403B Plan: Employees can contribute to a tax-deferred annuity plan; MHC matches a portion of the contributed funds.
Credit Union: All employees are offered membership to the Coastal Credit Union (CCU).
Employee Assistance Program: This agency-paid benefit provides easy access to confidential, professional counseling for employees and their families.
