Summary:

Reporting to Military and Veteran Services Coordinator, this administrative assistant position will provide administrative support to the Military and Veteran Services Office, the institutional certifying official, and the ROTC program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

* Communicates with all students, visitors and employees, in a professional and courteous manner.

* Assists ROTC programs with scheduling, reports, and coordination of ROTC department activities.

* Assists students with questions related to military and veteran services at Methodist University.

* Assists military connected student organizations with event planning, budget operations, and organizational duties.

* Prepares and/or coordinates the preparation and distribution of unit communications and supports committee and taskforce by providing minutes and scheduling.

* Provides information and guidance; solves concerns of students and others when possible; directs students and others to appropriate individuals/departments, when needed.

* Supports preparation of all TA and VA documentation.

* Assists in updating information in the Army IGNITED system

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

* 1-2 Years of administrative assistant work (in higher education or military-related setting preferred)

* Associate degree minimum; bachelor degree preferred.

* Familiarity with modern office practices, including Microsoft 365 collaborative productivity software (e.g. Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

* Experience with military and veteran services and/or ROTC campus programs (preferred).
