Our Award Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare services, is seeking a skilled Controller, Financial to join their dynamic team in Birmingham, Alabama. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial oversight and operational excellence.

Job Summary:
The Controller, Financial will collaborate closely with the CFO to manage daily financial operations, including month-end close, financial analysis, and action planning. Key responsibilities include oversight of supply chain and revenue cycle operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and leading financial training initiatives across departments. This role will also oversee the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and audit requirements for GME and Lab entities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in strategic financial planning processes, offering recommendations and preparing necessary reports.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to finance teams, particularly in Lab and GME departments.
  • Work closely with hospital controllers to optimize financial performance across markets.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to develop and implement plans for improving financial operations, quantifying financial impacts of projects.
  • Monitor Internal Audit activities for compliance, conduct self-audit risk assessments, and ensure SOX compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting, conducting performance analysis against budget and forecasts.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliation and review, identifying areas for improvement and assisting in mitigation planning.
  • Prepare quarterly and routine forecasts for CFO review and approval.
  • Lead the annual operating budget process for market entities, collaborating with department leaders to achieve efficient budget goals.
  • Support department heads in program planning, including goal achievement, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Prepare revenue, cost, and service line analyses as needed, supporting pro forma development.
  • Collaborate with the CFO on strategic financial initiatives to ensure effective financial management.

Technical Skills:
Five (5) years working in hospital accounting or finance. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent minimum experience requirements.
