Job Description:

Our Award Winning Client, a renowned healthcare provider with a national presence, is seeking a Director of Nursing for their Surgical Services department. This role involves providing high-level leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and ensuring the seamless operation of nursing and patient care functions across multiple units within the hospital. The Director of Nursing will oversee the comprehensive assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the CNO in overseeing nursing and patient care services, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Take full 24/7 accountability for the management and operations of designated nursing areas.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among the clinical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing practices across multiple units, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Act as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession, promoting professional development and competency among staff.
  • Efficiently manage resources related to patient care, optimizing staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain a focus on patient safety and the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based care.

Key Skills and Qualifications: Education:

  • Required: Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program, along with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a master’s degree in a healthcare-related field.

Experience:

  • Required: At least 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting, including roles such as a manager or full-time charge nurse.

Certifications:

  • Required: Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice. CPR certification.

Skills:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospital operations.
  • Strong advocate for the nursing profession.

  • Ability to perform job-related physical tasks, details available during the interview process.
