This role involves performing medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses to provide essential information for disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. - Analyzing Blood Cells: Utilize microscopic techniques to analyze blood cells.
- Chemical Analysis: Determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids through chemical analyses.
- Transfusion Preparation: Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions.
- Culture Processing: Handle and report cultures from various sources.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure laboratory equipment and supplies are well-maintained.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed reports of technological findings.
- Training: Provide training for new employees.
- Problem Solving: Identify and solve issues promptly.
- QA/QI Standards Compliance: Adhere to QA/QI standards in all processes.
- Safety: Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Information Provision: Offer medical technology information as needed.
- Professional Knowledge: Keep professional and technical knowledge up to date.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as required.
- A Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related field, or an associate degree in medical technology or related field.
- Valid MLS Certification.
- Open to new graduates, provided they are ASCP eligible.
- Consideration for MLT candidates who are already ASCP certified.
