Metro EHS Pediatric Therapy is Hiring a Pediatric COTA Near Southfield, MI

MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy is currently seeking a highly seasoned COTA to join our team of therapists that REVEAL THE SUPER IN EVERY CHILD! Our team is growing, and we have superhero clients at our neighborhood therapy center that would love to work with a dedicated COTA that has pediatric experience.

MetroEHS Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) work under the supervision of our Occupational Therapists treating children with a variety of challenges that prevent them from fully participating in daily life. Our COTAs provide pediatric occupational therapy services in an outpatient setting, in accordance with Michigan Licensure requirements. Outpatient clinic services may include, but are not limited to, screening, participating in evaluations, treatment planning in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist, providing direct treatment, family education, participating in discharge planning, and documentation of all services.

MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy provides services at our therapy centers across the Metro Detroit area as well as staffing services for Special Education and Healthcare facilities across the state. Our unique strategy to assist others involves many therapy disciplines in one location, creating ease for caregivers of children that may need this approach to succeed. Our services include: ABA Therapy, Feeding/Swallowing Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy & Speech Therapy. Affordable screenings for Speech-Language development, fine & gross motor development, sensory impairment and autism are also offered.

Job Duties:

  • Assist OTRL with developing and progressing treatment plans based upon initial evaluation, including assessing progress on established goals and objectives, and updating the plan of care as warranted.
  • Provide direct client treatment, utilizing appropriate evidence based, therapeutic techniques following a play-based, interdisciplinary, sensory integrative and developmental frames of reference.
  • Instruct client and/or client’s family or care giving staff in appropriate home program techniques.
  • Provides ongoing in-servicing and monitoring of therapeutic programs designed to develop, maintain, prevent regression and restore occupational function.
  • Complete documentation as required by MetroEHS’s Occupational Therapy Best Practices and Policies/ Procedures.
  • Coordinate the Therapeutic treatment plan with the Occupational Therapist, physician, and/or other appropriate professionals in order to maximize the client’s use of functional abilities.
  • Communicates information regarding changes or modifications in the treatment plan or changes in client status with the Occupational Therapist.
  • Participate in all clinical discussions regarding treatment, interdisciplinary Coordination of Care meetings and department meetings.
  • Other various tasks as assigned.

Pay:

  • $22-$28/hour productivity bonus potential

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program with an associate degree or higher.
  • Possess a valid state Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License as required by the State of Michigan.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, typically 9am-6pm.
