Position Description
The Sustainability Project Manager supports the Division of Sustainability’s goal to increase energy and water efficiency and decrease waste and greenhouse gas emissions across Metro-wide Government operations. As part of a small, collaborative team, this position designs and implements strategies that measurably advance this goal.
This position oversees departmental implementation of and overall reporting on Metro’s Renewable Portfolio Standard (Metro Code 2.32.080), which mandates annual stair-step goals towards achieving 100% renewable energy for municipal operations by 2041.
This position will coordinate with General Services divisions, other Metro departments, the local power utility (Nashville Electric Service), Tennessee Valley Authority, and contracted vendors towards achieving the goals of this mandate and advancing other city energy goals and projects. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, reporting, research, as well as renewable energy site selection, design guidelines, monitoring, and generation tracking.
The candidate must be a motivated and dynamic professional with excellent decision-making and interpersonal abilities and the ability to skillfully manage concurrent projects. Flexibility, positivity, reliability, and a commitment to excellence are required.
**This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule that may include remote work.**

Bachelor's Degree in any technical field, including but not limited to: Engineering, Environmental Science, Data Science, or related field and five (5) years of professional experience in a sustainability-related field. NO SUBSTITUTIONS
** Passing a Metro Nashville Police Department background check is required**
