Job SummaryThe Teacher utilizes current strategies and theories to plan, organize and implement structured lessons to instruct K12 students.

Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities : List, in the order of importance or time spent, the essential and position specific duties/tasks performed by the position. Essential Duty 1Instruct students in an in-person classroom environment through lectures, discussions, visual aids, instructional strategies, and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension.
Essential Duty 2Prepares lessons and outlines to use in class that effectively cover the material.
Essential Duty 3Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Position Specific Responsibility 1Administers various types of assessments to monitor student's comprehension of the material.
Position Specific Responsibility 2Assist students who need extra help with tutoring. Guides and counsels students with adjustment or academic problems or special academic interests.
Position Specific Responsibility 3Collaborates with other teachers and administrators to develop, evaluate, and revise academic programs following approved curricula.
Position Specific Responsibility 4Utilizes instructional technology, audio-visual aids, and other equipment and materials to enhance student learning.
Position Specific Responsibility 5Performs various administrative duties such as taking attendance, organizing the classroom, and responding to emails and phone calls from parents, school administrators, and staff in a timely manner
Position Specific Responsibility 6Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Position Specific Responsibility 7Attends in-person faculty meetings, teacher training workshops and educational conferences to maintain and improve professional competence.
Position Specific Responsibility 8Maintain accurate, complete, and correct student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.

Education And Experience Requirements Education (training/degree):Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field required.
Master's, Specialist, or Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution in a related field preferred.
Licenses, Certifications Or Registrations RequiredMust hold or be eligible for a certificate or license issued by the Tennessee Department of Education with an applicable endorsement.
ExperienceWork experience gained through education and certification/license requirements.

Meal Deduction - Most Bransford office and district level employee have a meal deduction. They are scheduled 8.5 hours per day and get an hour lunch. Itinerants and retirees get a 30 minute lunch period and therefore do not have a meal deduction. All school based employees will not have a meal deduction.Auto Meal Deduction
