Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities is Hiring an Associate Planner Near Paul, MN

The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area providing essential services to our region: transportation, wastewater treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems.
Two (2) positions are available for Associate Planner in Local Planning Assistance. This work unit leads the Council's implementation of the Metropolitan Land Planning Act as well as the development and implementation of the metropolitan development guide and policy plans. They review comprehensive plans and amendments, and environmental reviews that deal with land use, transportation, housing, parks, natural systems, resilience strategies, and other issues.
These positions are eligible for hybrid (remote and onsite) teleworking.
Salary Range:$61,755.20 - $93,225.60 Annually
Minimum Requirements:
Any of the following combinations in completed education (with major coursework in urban planning, community development, environmental studies, geography, or related field) AND experience (in urban planning, community development, environmental planning, geography, or related field):
- High school diploma/GED with four years of experience
- Associate degree with two years of experience
- Bachelor's or higher degree with no experience requirement
