We are now hiring for a full-time Early Learning Facilities Coordinator to join our Team at DuPage !
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Support site directors at Children's Centers in maintaining safe and operational facilities within budgetary guidelines.
  • Coordinate facilities with inspectors, contractors, and other outside persons on an as needed basis.
  • Responsible for coordinating maintenance projects between sites, its partners, area managers, and contractors; maintaining a complete schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance requests.
  • In collaboration with the contracted vendors, gather, monitor, and oversee the required paperwork for maintaining the Facilities service areas in accordance with state law, Head Start Performance Standards, and DCFS licensing regulations to ensure safe, high-quality programming for children and families.
  • Establish systems and procedures to ensure timely execution related to Risk Management, and all quality assurance, corrective action, and compliance activities related to the Head Start Performance Standards, City of Chicago licensing, DCFS regulations, and Excelerate requirements.
  • Ensure monthly monitoring and reporting activities are scheduled and checklists are completed. Assess need and plan for follow-up actions as deemed necessary in a timely manner.
  • Order, purchase, and/or gather needed tools and materials to complete maintenance requests.
  • Track and maintain inventory, the agency intranet, and on-site.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with outside vendors and stakeholders to provide high quality materials and services to Head Start children and families.
  • Participate in the annual Self-Assessment process, including training staff, compiling data, and planning for continued quality improvements.
  • Participate in program recruitment efforts to maintain full enrollment.
  • Respect and maintain rights and privacy of all staff, parents, and children.
  • Attend mandated trainings and meetings, and seek out staff development opportunities.
  • Provides active supervision to ensure the safety of Head Start children while in the classroom, during transitions, and while on the playground. Ensures that no child is left alone or unsupervised.
  • Work as a team member with all staff and maintain a positive work ethic.
  • Participate in Site Operation Manager meetings as scheduled.
  • Work collaboratively with the Site Operation Manager at individual sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required; some college strongly preferred
  • 3 years of facilities management experience required
  • Awareness of Child Care safety regulations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Mobility for travel with the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License and insurance
  • Food Handler's certification or Manager's License or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • MFS staff are required to provide proof of vaccination or have an approved Medical exemption prior to starting employment. If an approved Medical is obtained, weekly testing may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
SALARY:
  • Compensation is commensurate with years of related experience, position requirements, and candidate qualifications. The average hourly rate for this position is $20 hour.
