DescriptionYear-long assignment. Shorter assignments will not be considered. Credentialing and security clearance can take 6-8 weeks.
Place Of PerformanceThe work to be performed under this contract will be at the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command New England (NMRTCNE), Newport, Rhode Island and associated branch medical clinics within a 40-mile radius of their assigned MTF.
Minimum Qualifications
Newport: MONDAY-FRIDAY 0730-1700
Groton: MONDAY-FRIDAY 0630-1700
Kittery: MONDAY-FRIDAY 0630-1700
Saratoga Springs: MONDAY-FRIDAY 0700-1600
SchedulingSpecific days, hours, and shift length will be scheduled by the designated government representative. The specific schedule for each two (2) week period will be provided one (1) month in advance by the government supervisor or designee.
Legal Authorization to Work in the United States: HCWs performing under this contract must be U.S. Citizens as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Citizenship, and Immigration Services, either a noncitizen national of the United States, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or alien authorized to work in the United States.
Required for Submission: Resume (all gaps over 30 days explained), skills checklist, 2 references, and license.

Minimum Qualifications
- Degree: Doctor of Optometry.
- Certifications: BLS and possess a certification to use Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents.
- Education: Graduate from a school or college approved by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association.
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the preceding three (3) years as an Optometrist. Experience must include post-operative refractive surgery to include familiarity with Excimer laser, photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and Laser-Assisted in situ Keratomileusis (LASIK), patient selection, and co-management of refractive surgery patients.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an optometrist.
