JOB SUMMARY & PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director, Field Manager, and Manager
DEPARTMENT NAME: Nutrition Services

JOB SUMMARY (2-3 sentences):
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: List, in the order of time spent, the essential tasks performed by the position. Employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required:

Under the supervision of cafeteria managers, performs preparation functions and collection of cash.
Job Responsibility 1:

Must be able to work a flexible schedule between 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at any school within the District.

Job Responsibility 2:

Performs tasks in preparation for daily operation which include: checking temperatures, turning on equipment, setting up food lines, preparing food to ensure that all equipment is ready to be used for the day, serve food to customers daily.

Job Responsibility 3:

Collects money for food items purchased, balances cash drawer at end of shift, maintains cash flow records, prepares bank deposit slips, deposits receipts daily in bank to ensure proper cash flow records are maintained; deposit daily receipts if needed.

Job Responsibility 4:

Determines. If needed, quantities of food to ensure adequate amounts, assists in preparation of food.

Job Responsibility 5:

Cleans kitchen in accordance with health and safety standards; wash dishes, cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, counters and tables, mops and sweeps floors on a daily basis in compliance with local and state health regulations if needed.

Job Responsibility 6:

Prepares daily operation reports, prepares daily bank deposits; writes daily product demand reports in accordance with departmental guidelines.

Job Responsibility 7:

Monitors temperatures and equipment to ensure equipment is operating in accordance with safety guidelines, notifies proper personnel of any problems

Job Responsibility 8:

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment.

Ability to concentrate on multiply tasks simultaneously.
IMPACT OF DECISIONS : " Impact of Decisions" refers to consequences such as damage to property, loss of data or property, exposure of the organization to legal liability, or injury or death to individuals.
EQUIPMENT USAGE : "Equipment Usage" refers to inanimate objects such as substances, materials, machines, tools, equipment, work aids, or products. A thing is tangible and has shape, form, and other physical characteristics.
Kitchen equipment including but not limited to steamers, ovens, tilt skillets, milk boxes and other necessary kitchen equipment.
SAFETY OF OTHERS : " Safety of Others" refers to the responsibility for other people's safety, either inherent in the job or to assure the safety of the general public.
Ability to follow all Health & Sanitation rules, work place safety rules, all other District and Department rules pertaining to safety.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS : " Education Requirements" refers to job specific training and education required for entry into the position.
High School diploma or GED
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED : " Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations" refers to professional, state, or federal licenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position.
Valid Driver's license and reliable vehicle
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : " Experience Requirements" refers to the amount of work experience that is required for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the tasks required by the position.
One year experience in cash handling, able to operate cash register and adding machine, able to accurately count and record meals.
Passing score on cashier's test
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : " Physical Demands" refers to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds, must be able to stand for up to seven hours per day, must be able to work quickly and safely to ensure service for all students within allocated time, must have precise hand-eye coordination.
UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS : " Unavoidable Hazards" refers to unusual conditions in the work environment that may cause illness or injury.
Usually performs work in a food service kitchen setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Ability to work with cleaning chemicals.
SENSORY (ADA) REQUIREMENTS : " Sensory Requirements" refers to hearing, sight, touch, taste, and smell necessary to perform the tasks required by the position efficiently.
