This position is eligible for our $1000 sign on bonus.
The Clinical Systems Specialist requires an appropriate level of personal and technical experience to understand and support our healthcare organization's successful utilization of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. They will be responsible for efficiently creating and maintaining clinical and non-clinical content in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in a way that supports the values and mission of Metropolitan Pediatrics. This position requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in Epic features related to revenue cycle management, ambulatory care, contracting or other modules. Additional responsibilities will include supporting or leading projects and implementations at the direction of senior leadership and to train & support users directly in day-to-day workflow standardization and efficiency.
Essential Functions
  • Build and maintain content and settings in the EHR related to Clinical Content, Revenue Cycle, Ambulatory, Contracting, and other modules, ensuring they align with industry best practices and organizational needs.
  • Optimize and train employees and providers on clinical and non-clinical workflows in collaboration and at the direction of leadership.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to develop and optimize processes while promoting an understanding of the capabilities of the EHR and other information systems to support patient safety, quality, work-life balance, and administrative needs.
  • Use data, goals, and organizational priorities to provide/develop training and support for our users on EHR efficiencies and workflows.
  • Monitor incoming EHR related requests and triage them based on importance, urgency, and strategic direction in partnership with leadership. Provide technical support, issue investigation, and respond to escalations from team members and end-users as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
  • Support data analysis by building EHR tools to support the extraction and presentation of data related to organizational operations and finance.
  • Participate in and lead as asked EHR or operational implementations/optimizations.
  • Stay updated on Epic software updates, industry trends, and best practices to recommend and implement enhancements.
  • Collaborate with a broad collection of end-users, including revenue cycle specialists, clinical staff, contracting teams, executive leadership, managers, providers, and contracted workers, to analyze and improve workflows within the EHR system. Work directly with partner organizations and their analysts to support the functions and responsibilities herein.
  • Always maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient and organizational information.

  • Punctual, regular, timely, and dependable attendance.
  • Flexible with capacity to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Clinical degree or certification as RN, LPN, MA preferred not required.
  • 1-3 years of project management and/or direct training experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of Epic build experience preferred.
  • Epic Certified in at least one module (Content Builder, Ambulatory, Cadence, or Rev Cycle) preferred, but not strictly required at time of hiring. Certification in at least one module will be expected early in any employment term.
  • Strong understanding or willingness to learn healthcare revenue cycle processes, ambulatory care workflows, and contracting operations.
