Job Summary: Diligent, detail-oriented with good interpersonal and quantitative skills. Examine damages to people and property, interview witnesses, policemen and subject experts and determine the monetary value owed to the claimant. Have good investigative skills and will be capable of finding and collating various sources of information when compiling a claims report. This is not a remote job.

Responsibilities:

1. Investigate property damage or personal injury.
2. Interview witnesses to understand the nature of the claim and gain an understanding of what occurred prior to the claim
3. Evaluate police reports, video footage, previous insurance claims and other information to further understand the incident
4. Create reports detailing the events and damage related to the claim
5. Research the costs of repairing the damage
6. Coordinate the services of mechanics, architects, contractors, etc. to ensure damage is repaired
7. Conferring with legal counsel when needed
8. Negotiating settlements and authorizing payments
9. Stay abreast of changes and trends with respect to related compliance laws and regulations.
10. Comply with company policies and procedures. Address changes if needed.
11. Assist when needed to retrieve the video images from buses and MetroLink Tulsa facilities via internet and/or the removal of electronic hard drives from buses for video inspections related to transit service quality control, accident, and incident investigations.
12. Catalogue and maintain videos in a secure location. Maintain all videos that were retrieved due to an accident, incident, liability claim, or lawsuit.
13. Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and maintain a clear Motor Vehicle Record.
14. Maintain confidentiality of, including, but not limited to, all employee incidents, accidents, video inspections, and any resulting employee disciplinary actions.

Qualifications:

1. 2 years prior experience in a similar role is strongly preferred

1. Superior communication skills are essential for success in this role as you will be responsible for meeting with everyone from claimants, lawyers, and witnesses
2. Analytical thinking skills are needed to properly evaluate complex claims
3. A strong attention to detail is necessary as claims adjusters must carefully review documents and policies
4. Solid writing skills are an asset as you will be responsible for creating claim reports
5. Skill and experience with negotiations
6. Sound computer skills or the ability to quickly learn new software
7. A strong work ethic and time management skills in order to efficiently handle a large caseload

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

1. Must be available to attend training on or offsite.
2. Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
3. Perform other incidental duties as may be assigned.

Requirements:

Knowledge – Knowledge of the City of Tulsa is preferred. Must be able to work well with others. Being able to start and complete projects on time is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent computer skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Working knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.

Mental Effort - Requires ability to handle numerous activities at one time. Must be able to work with no supervision and possess excellent organizational skills.

Physical - May be required to lift or push 25 lbs.. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods.

Audible/Visual Demands - Requires ability to hear telephone and directions given, and visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance. Ability to view visual display terminal for extended periods.
