Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, is currently seeking experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Surgical team at our Akron location.

The Surgery Department at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital is looking for an RVTs with superior interpersonal skills as well as a strong desire to learn and grow as a technician. As an RVT within the practice, our technicians function to the fullest of their capabilities; from performing phlebotomy to placing IV catheters, to giving epidurals and monitoring anesthesia, to providing excellent client communication and education. Both the Surgery Department and Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital as a whole, foster a strong learning and teaching environment.

Job Duties:

• Performing phlebotomy, IM IV, and SQ injections
• Placing IV catheters, jugular catheters, arterial lines, urinary catheters, nasal O2, and nasogastric tubes
• Managing jugular catheters, JP drains, and chest tubes
• Calculating medications and CRIs
• Advanced anesthesia including epidurals, TIVA, CO2, ECG, and arterial blood pressure monitoring
• Patient preparation and positioning for surgery
• Circulator and scrub nurse duties in the surgical suites
• Basic Laboratory duties
• Diagnostic techniques such as radiographs and CT
• General animal care

Providing excellent client communication and education.

Hours: Full time Monday-Friday with Saturday rotations
