MetroWest Jewish Day School (MWJDS) is hiring for a School Nurse. This is a full-time, 10-month position based in Framingham, MA. Typical working hours are 8:30am-3:30pm Mon-Thur, and 8:30am-2:00pm on Fridays. The salary for this position ranged from $50,000-$60,000 and includes healthcare options. This school takes days off for all Jewish holidays and most national holidays.

Nestled in the woods of Framingham, MWJDS is a Jewish K-8 alternative education setting serving between 30-40 students each school year. MWJDS is dedicated to nurturing children's unique learning paths in a small classroom environment based on a warm, individualized approach. MWJDS classrooms are mixed grade level and age groups with a low teacher-to-student ratio.

Overview of School Nurse Position

Reporting to the Head of School, the School Nurse is responsible for the health and well being of students and staff ranging in age from five years to adulthood. The School Nurse will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care, health education, and advocacy for students. Your responsibilities will include assessing and addressing the health needs of students, administering first aid and medications, managing chronic health conditions, and collaborating with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support for student health. Job Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate health services for students and staff.

• Organize and implement state-mandated programs such as immunization surveillance and screening programs.

• Assess children for a wide range of physical and behavioral illnesses.

• Develop programs to promote wellness in the school community.

• Provide medically prescribed interventions, including medication administration and treatment.

• Provide first aid/emergency care to students and staff.

• Collaborate with parents and community healthcare providers.

• Maintain comprehensive and confidential health records, and ensure they are in compliance with state regulations.

• Serve as a member of pertinent committees and teams supporting the school.

• Serve as a liaison among the school, the home, and the community.

• Collaborate with families and students to develop and implement individualized health plans as needed.

• Assist in the preparation and implementation of the school’s health budget.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts

• Current CPR certification

• At least two years experience in a clinical nursing setting

• School nurse educator license from Department of Elementary and Secondary Education preferred

• Pediatric experience preferred

• Live within commutable distance of MetroWest Jewish Day school in Framingham, MA

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1-B visa status).
