Accounts Payable Specialist
OVERALL FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Lead/Accounts Receivable will manage the accounts payable process, ensuring that all invoices are processed accurately and timely. This role is a non-exempt position earning $30.11 per hour to $60.06 per hour.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.
- Ensure proper coding and matching of invoices to purchase orders.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Maintain vendor files and set up new vendors in the accounting system.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Assist with month-end closing and accruals.
- Generate reports and assist with audits as needed.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment status and issues.
- Maintain accurate records for 1099 vendors and assist annual filing.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in an accounts payable role.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., HP (Growth Power), QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Intacct, or NetSuite)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
