Meyer is Hiring a Sales Coordinator Near Vallejo, CA

 Job Summary:

Responsible for executing all sales team functions (maximizing account revenue, profit, and market share while minimizing operational expenses) as directed. Perform both scheduled and ad hoc analyses to identify targets of opportunity for business development. Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales and other departments to drive projects to completion.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist the Director of Sales with account-facing and internal-facing sales functions
  • Support all internal and account-facing business reviews including, but not limited to, program strategy, sales performance, merchandising, marketing, promotions, and operations. Create formal meeting presentations and ad hoc analyses as directed.
  • Analyze retail POS and wholesale product sales to identify opportunities to grow revenue, gain market share, develop new products, and improve advertising performance.
  • Analyze revenue-driving investments (Advertising, Merchandising, Promotions) and work with the Director of Sales to evaluate execution and develop future action plans.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to evaluate all financial aspects of each account, including product margins, other deductions, and allowances, to formulate strategies that ensure profitability.
  • Review site and product detail pages for all assigned accounts regularly to ensure Meyer brands are properly represented and optimized. As necessary, work with the E-Commerce Sales Development team.
  • Work with internal support teams to manage shipping, compliance, and proper inventory planning and fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to review account revenue plans specific to their impact on demand forecasting.
  • Maintain productive business relationships with vendor managers/buyers, support staff, and retailer management.
  • Stay abreast of digital marketplace, pricing, and customer strategy related to online retail trends. Stay current on all consumer-facing elements of the retailer’s site and apps.
  • Gather competitive marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, and merchandising techniques, and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Attend meetings with the appropriate sales management throughout the year. Maintain regular communication via email, phone, and video.
  • Travel to in-person meetings, as requested.
  • Communicate with Meyer employees and retail customers in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
  • Support Meyer’s Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Collaboration, Innovation, Continual Improvement and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Manage business expenses in a responsible and timely manner.
  • All other related duties as directed by sales management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in retail and/or vendor/supplier Knowledge of the Housewares industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Google Slides, Word/Docs are required
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to learn and understand key business processes/issues
  • Must possess integrity maturity, and a constructive approach to challenges
  • Data-driven, analytic mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial mindset and tenacious approach.
  • Must maintain a current knowledge and understanding of Meyer products.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess time management skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both in verbal and written formats.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residency.
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities to perform the job duties.
  • Must be able to travel for meetings, account visits, and industry shows as necessary
  • Ability to work from a home office required.
