About the Opportunity:

As Director of Crop Protection and Seed your role will be to provide retail operations throughout our trade-area with the proper level of inventory at our warehouses and to help enable sales efforts. You will be responsible for all wholesale operations of the seed and crop protection divisions. You will also be responsible for pricing products to stay competitive in the market while delivering a high level of service with each delivery and billing process. You will also be expected to provide recommendations that will assist our company-owned locations, joint ventures and local-affiliates excel in the MFA trade territory. This role will have ownership of the financial performance of both divisions. All duties should be performed in accordance with company policies. 

Our expectations are that you:

• Support the manufacturers that are strategically aligned with Tenkoz, the largest distribution entity for crop protection products
• Grow wholesale sales of Crop Protection chemicals outside MFA’s traditional boundaries
• Support and grow the business with Trumann, Althiemer, and Emporia warehouses.
• Manage any crop protection joint venture to ensure that the desired financial outcome is achieved.
• Foster team spirit, accountability and customer partnering to maintain a positive relationship with retail, joint ventures and locals by attending meetings and visiting locations on a regular basis
• Work alongside the Agronomy Division to positively impact the business
• Deliver organizational results through a performance-driven culture by educating and training the staff to grow in their positions
• Provide the proper level of inventory that meets the locations’ needs and stays within proper inventory levels at all 6 warehouse locations.
• Manage the CP Product Managers and make sure that they are properly overseeing their portfolios.
• Develop and implement the strategic intent for the crop protection division.
• Work closely with the credit department to monitor wholesale credit to crop protection accounts.
• Be accountable for the delivery of the Seed Division net profit target.
• Develop and implement the Seed Division strategic Intent and strategy.

Highly qualified candidates will bring: 

• B.S. Degree in Agriculture, Business (or related program) or a minimum of 5 years of experience on the job
• Inventory management experience
