MGA Research Corporation is a world-renowned testing services and equipment provider with nine facility locations across North America. We are seeking an entry-level Test Engineer to work in our materials test lab in Lincoln, Alabama. This is a hands-on role that primarily involves managing and performing both interior and exterior materials testing such as polymers, plastics, composites, and fabrics, etc.
MGA’s facility in Alabama is located approximately 45 miles east of Birmingham, Alabama. We are situated right next to the famed Talladega Superspeedway, and right in the middle of the buzzing automotive industry in the Southeastern United States.

• Execute tests and report technical results in a timely manner
• Planning, coordinating, and management of projects and test processes to ensure the highest levels of test quality and customer satisfaction
• Provide both physical and technical support for daily testing activities
• Direct involvement in customer outreach and business growth plans in the Southeast
• Management/oversight of other team members in daily operations including technical guidance and customer service
• Development and continuous improvement of testing procedures
• Quality related activities such as preparation, checking, and filing of calibration reports and maintaining our instrument and equipment database
• Overseeing test equipment to ensure adherence to proper maintenance and calibration schedules
• Provide regular updates to management on project progress
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities for business growth

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science (or related engineering field)
• Willingness to work in a physical testing environment, including setup and execution of tests
• Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
• Experience in a lab performing testing, analysis and reporting
• Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for business related meetings and/or other MGA facilities for technical support
• Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
