MGC is looking for a hardworking individual with a strong desire to learn to join our team. This hybrid role works as both a field and CAD technician. Applicants that are hired by MGC will be trained from the ground up on industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform field survey work, such as measuring aerial and underground utilities in addition to accurately documenting their markings.
• Utilize analog and electronic measurement tools to survey utility poles.
• Provide in the field insights and evaluate constructability issues to offer guidance on appropriate construction methodologies.
• Maintain and update tasks on SharePoint, ensuring effective task management.
• Collaborate with the Field Manager and provide regular status updates .
• Develop basemaps from diverse data sets, including GIS, PDF, aerial mapping programs, and creation from scratch using field notes.
• Generate comprehensive construction drawing sets for permit acquisition, encompassing plans, profiles, typicals, restoration plans, site photographs, and traffic control plans.
• Create accurate project as-builts.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• We encourage candidates of all experience levels to apply, as we are open to considering both entry-level and experienced individuals.
• Demonstrated physical fitness and stamina to meet the demands of on-site utility surveys and fieldwork in adverse weather conditions.
• Familiarity with NESC codes and regulations preferred but not required.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with utility owners, team members and the general public in challenging field conditions.
• Flexibility for up to 50% in-state/out-of-state travel as required.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, with a commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement.
• Experience with Microsoft software: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Office 365(Plus).
• Proficient use of Adobe Acrobat for handling PDF documents.
• Familiarity with web conferencing tools such as Webex, GoToMeeting, and Office 365.
• Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet project delivery dates.
• Detail-oriented approach to work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
