About the Role

As the Project Manager for MGS, you will be responsible to drive successful management of assigned projects from order launch to shipment, along with being responsible for managing and monitoring project scope, schedule, cost, and risks of multiple projects. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders and ensure the alignment of financial and operational goals between projects and the business.

In this role you are also responsible for:

  • Excellent communicator at all organizational levels with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between internal and external customers that scope is clearly, accurately, and completely defined. Monitor changes that can affect the project and create change orders to capture new agreements.
  • Create, monitor, and adapt schedule to ensure successful delivery of the project.
  • Manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and actuals tracking of labor hours and material costs. Review planned versus actual budget throughout project life cycle to identify variances and recommend corrective action.
  • Continuously identify exposure to risk by evaluating potential risks, developing contingency plans, and engaging stakeholders on the mitigation plan.
  • Establish effective and collaborative working relationships to maximize project efficiency, responsiveness, and resource allocation. Ensure team members accountability through project completion and tailor to support individual and team needs.

  • Navigate complexity and ambiguity.
  • Identify challenges, collect and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and recommend solutions with an adaptive, resilient, and collaborative nature.
  • Follow established project systems and department processes. Guides and assists the Project Management Office in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build relationships, influence others, gain consensus, and resolve stakeholder conflicts in a professional, positive, and tactful manner.

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred with two years project management experience or four years project manager experience in lieu of degree.
  • Working in a fast paced, engineered to order, manufacturing environment.
  • Managing multiple projects at various stages of the project life cycle.
  • Creating, analyzing, and presenting project performance data to the business
  • Highly organized and good at managing details.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Aptitude to deal directly with customers in high pressure situations, not conflict adverse.
  • Proactive on follow-up, not letting issues linger.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Superior ability to plan.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Some travel may be required (less than 20% expected).
  • Typical office environment, but frequently works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise level.
  • May occasionally need to visit various production facilities.
  • Typical Monday through Friday week but may need to occasionally work additional hours or days to meet job requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Safety glasses and shoes are required in production facilities.
