Minimum Qualifications

Additional experience in inspecting or repairing escalators and / or elevators or escalators or coordinating, administering, or managing elevator or escalator repair contracts may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Supervisory experience preferred. Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification and such other procedures as may be mandated by federal law.

The security clearance required by federal law is a continuing condition of employment.

Recruitment Notes

This management position oversees the planning, organizing, directing, and managing contract services for elevators, escalators, moving walkways, baggage handling systems, Electronic Passenger Weighing System (scales) and access control point barriers for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department's system of airports to include coordinating conveyance inspections;

conveyance repairs and maintenance; and conveyance contractual functions, which will allow the Elevator Contracts Specialist to perform site visits, verification of job performance and address onsite repairs and challenges that may arise in a timely manner.

This position will be in charge of administering, tracking and processing of invoices for regular maintenance of conveyances, installations and major repairs for all systems and equipment under their span of control.
