Diamond Peak Recruiting is Hiring a Construction Project Manager - MEP Near Seattle, WA

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager specializing in commercial HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of assigned projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems and strong project management skills to lead complex and large-scale commercial projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management:

  • Project Coordination:
  • Manage and oversee all phases of commercial HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects from inception through completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company objectives.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and supervise project teams, including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Budget and Cost Control:
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control measures are in place.
  • Identify and resolve any financial discrepancies or issues to maintain profitability.
  • Schedule Management:
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of tasks.
  • Identify potential delays and implement solutions to keep the project on track.

Technical Expertise and Quality Assurance:

  • Technical Oversight:
  • Provide technical direction and support for the installation and maintenance of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Quality Control:
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures, conducting regular site inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues or deficiencies promptly.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

  • Client Relations:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Address client concerns and feedback, making adjustments as necessary to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare and present project reports, including status updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments, to clients and company management.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.

Risk Management and Problem Solving:

  • Risk Assessment:
  • Identify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts.
  • Proactively address and resolve project challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline and budget.
  • Problem Solving:
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues and project conflicts, implementing effective solutions to maintain project continuity.
  • Foster a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving among project team members.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing commercial HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Experience in handling large-scale and complex mechanical projects is highly desirable.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems, including design, installation, and maintenance practices.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
