Progressive AE is Hiring a Senior Construction Project Manager & Superintendent Manager Near Grand Rapids, MI

Make an Impact
As the Lead Construction Operations, you are responsible for managing the superintendents, construction project management, effective client engagement, and for completing projects from preconstruction estimating and bidding through construction completion within established quality, budget, and schedule constraints. You are responsible to provide overall administrative and technical direction for projects, along with preparing portions of contract proposal estimates for one or more disciplines, including the determination of applicable project plans and specifications.
Deliver Results
  • Oversee the total construction effort to ensure each project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Interface with client representatives, A/E representatives, union officials, subcontractors, security, and other stakeholders.
  • Create project work scopes with Superintendent for bidding. Run Pre-Bid meetings, and Post-Bid Interviews. Manage subcontractors to work scopes and contracts.
  • Create and maintain an overall construction schedule in conjunction with the Superintendent, utilizing Microsoft Project or similar software. Coordinate with Owner and subcontractors. Prepare and execute project work plans.
  • Conduct effective team meetings during all phases of design and construction as applicable. Manage weekly contractor progress meetings along with the Superintendent and update meeting minutes for distribution.
  • Solve complex project issues by providing team support and technical advice while answering questions that arise in the field or in Requests for Information (RFI's.)
  • Ensure an organized and safe job site is maintained throughout the project. Coordinate and supervise all construction activities in conjunction with the Superintendent.
  • Actively and creatively identify new business opportunities and develop new client relationships along with maintaining established relationships. Listen for and seek out new projects which may exist or are being formulated.
Required Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of related experience in a Construction Superintendent and/or Construction Manager role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Commercial construction project experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Health and Safety training, including CPR/First Aid Certification and OSHA 30 Hour Construction Training.
  • Procore experience.
