They have been in business for over 65 years, based out of New England, with this location in the Portland, Maine area. Job DescriptionThe key responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer include, but are not limited to:
Provide timely, hands-on engineering assistance for Production, Quality, and Purchasing. Act as the main point of contact for problem resolution and inquiries.
Develop and document effective manufacturing processes for current production, including work instructions, fixtures, tooling, equipment, and automation.
Prepare Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and related documentation, ensuring technical accuracy and completeness. Provide guidance during documentation preparation and release.
Design and implement Engineering Test Protocols (ETPs) for new processes, product improvements, and new production equipment.
Perform detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and analyses for current products, including enhancements, cost reductions, and failure analyses.
Assist in fabricating and assembling models and prototypes, developing diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures, and identifying root causes of production issues.
Participate in Design and Drawing Reviews, focusing on manufacturability, assembly, and testing requirements.

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Physics) or equivalent experience.
Experience with manual and automated processes in a manufacturing environment
Experience in medical devices; Bio-Medical experience is a plus.
Experience in specifying, selecting, and implementing automation in manufacturing, including writing and performing IQ/OQ/PQs and other validation processes.
