About Our ClientMy client is a leading manufacturer within the metals and steel industry, serving primarily the automotive and aerospace industries. They are looking for a Quality Engineer who will be tasked with working cross-functionally across multiple departments in production on quality projects. This individual will be joining a close-knit quality team and will have the opportunity from an experienced leadership team. Job Description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for managing daily activities as outlined below and completing special assignments as directed by the Quality Manager.
Actively maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001
Lead cross-functional teams to create and update Process Control Plans/Manufacturing Process Plans, FMEAs, and Process Masters
Initiate and coordinate follow-up activity on Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAR/PAR)
Review Material Test Reports for compliance to order specifications and submit to customer.
Generate quality reports and update monthly key performance indicators (KPI) data
Prepare First Article/Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission packages
Perform Internal Quality Audits in conformance with ISO 9001
Coordinate supplier quality activity including supplier quality audits and surveys
Complete customer quality surveys
Accomplish the organization's Quality mission by completing related activities directed by the Quality Manager

Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
Field of study: Engineering
Experience in a Quality Assurance Role a plus
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001 required
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Experience in heavy manufacturing preferred
Familiarity interacting with databases such as manufacturing operations management and customer relationship management systems (MOM/CRM) preferred
Experience with First Article/PPAP, CAR/PAR and KPI tracking methodologies preferred
