About Our ClientMy client is a leading manufacturer within the metals and steel industry, serving primarily the automotive and aerospace industries. They are looking for a Quality Engineer who will be tasked with working cross-functionally across multiple departments in production on quality projects. This individual will be joining a close-knit quality team and will have the opportunity from an experienced leadership team.
Job Description
  • The Quality Engineer is responsible for managing daily activities as outlined below and completing special assignments as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Actively maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001
  • Lead cross-functional teams to create and update Process Control Plans/Manufacturing Process Plans, FMEAs, and Process Masters
  • Initiate and coordinate follow-up activity on Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAR/PAR)
  • Review Material Test Reports for compliance to order specifications and submit to customer.
  • Generate quality reports and update monthly key performance indicators (KPI) data
  • Prepare First Article/Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission packages
  • Perform Internal Quality Audits in conformance with ISO 9001
  • Coordinate supplier quality activity including supplier quality audits and surveys
  • Complete customer quality surveys
  • Accomplish the organization's Quality mission by completing related activities directed by the Quality Manager

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Field of study: Engineering
  • Experience in a Quality Assurance Role a plus
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001 required
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing preferred
  • Familiarity interacting with databases such as manufacturing operations management and customer relationship management systems (MOM/CRM) preferred
  • Experience with First Article/PPAP, CAR/PAR and KPI tracking methodologies preferred
