As the Senior Accountant, you will assist in the month-end close process and identify any gaps in their processes to improve the internal controls. They welcome this mindset and approach to continuously make the team stronger/more efficient. The team is very collaborative and will give you all the mentorship and training needed to be successful in this role.
Job DescriptionSenior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and analyzing financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Reviewing monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records.
- Preparing monthly financial statements for internal and external distribution, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Managing reconciliation tasks with an audit focus.
- Identifying operational gaps within the organization and devising strategies for improvement and automation.
- Establishing effective internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP
- Promoting ongoing enhancement in cost accounting to boost the accuracy, detail, and usability of costing data. Offering strategic recommendations to enhance overall accounting performance.
- Managing daily banking operations throughout the entire revenue cycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on month-end close and process improvement experience within a manufacturing industry
- Experience in Cost Accounting
- Experience with ERP systems and process improvement
- Ability to think outside the box and demonstrate creativity
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
