Job Description
- Category Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for packaging materials and services to support business objectives.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify sourcing opportunities and risks.
- Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Cost Management:
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and drive value engineering projects to optimize packaging costs.
- Monitor and analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and track performance against targets.
- Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure all packaging materials and suppliers comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and compliance teams to address any issues and implement corrective actions.
- Sustainability:
- Develop and implement sustainable packaging strategies, aligning with company goals and industry best practices.
- Work with suppliers to identify and incorporate eco-friendly packaging solutions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including product development, marketing, operations, and supply chain, to understand packaging needs and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Provide sourcing insights and recommendations to support new product launches and other initiatives.
- Market Intelligence:
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about packaging trends, innovations, and competitive landscape.
- Share market insights with internal teams to inform strategic decision-making.
- Performance Metrics:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supplier performance and sourcing effectiveness.
- Prepare and present regular reports on category performance and sourcing activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- MUST be bilingual in both English and Spanish
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management, with a focus on packaging.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful sourcing strategies.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, suppliers, and market trends.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and eco-friendly packaging solutions is a plus.
