Position: Safety Monitor
Time: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 7:25-2:55
Wednesdays 7:25-1:35
Pay Rate Range: $13.14- $14.39 depending on experience
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma
2. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper
grammar and vocabulary
3. Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative
4. Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students,
staff, administration, parents and the community, including difficult and emotional situations.
Responsibilities:
Must be on time for assigned shift and excellent attendance.
Patrol and monitor hallways, bathrooms, locker rooms, outside facilities, and other
public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well-being
of students and staff and the security of the facility.
Ensures that students comply with school rules and communicates with students
to monitor behavior while in the hallways.
Report conflicts between students to the appropriate administrator when necessary.
Assist with school drills i.e. fire, tornado, lockdowns, etc.
Assist the professional staff, police, and emergency personnel in handling
emergencies or disruptive situations.
Monitor radio traffic for requests of information from staff members.
Assist visitors with directions and secure proper identification.
Report unauthorized visitors and escort them to exits.
Report any discipline infractions, unauthorized visitors, and acts of vandalism to
the Principal or appropriate administrator.
Notify the building administration, police, and/or appropriate emergency
personnel of any emergency, potentially dangerous, or unusual situations.
Promote attitudes of student responsibility and assists the staff with the safety of
the students and staff and security of the facilities.
Supports the school district in ensuring a safe and orderly environment by
monitoring the hallways and the students while maintaining confidentiality.
