Position Summary
Initiate, approve, audit, and reconcile transactions in the MSU Kuali financial system for multiple accounts in support of assigned units and responsibilities for the Business & Financial Services department in Student Life & Engagement; respond to and support business partners accounting needs and operational requests; assist with hiring and supervising student staff; create and analyze financial reports and make recommendations for continuous improvements; support Culinary Services and Auxiliary Sports Group departments with combined revenues near $200 million. Ability to work two days/week remotely after six month satisfactory evaluation; may include infrequent, on-site work during peak business times or MSU home football games.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Accounting; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in financial statement and report preparation, general ledger accounting and budgeting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in accounting, financial statement and report preparation, general ledger accounting; competency with word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software.
