Plastikos is looking for a Quality Engineering Technician (QET) to join our Team! As a QET, you will provide support to all departments within the Company to ensure that products meet customer expectations as well as any internal requirements through new mold qualification, establishing measurement methods, creation of inspection instructions, and metrology related activities.

Hours: 3:00pm-11:00pm OR 11:00pm-7:00am

Key Responsibilities:

METROLOGY

1. Performs part inspections (dimensional and visual), as directed
2. Creates/de-bugs/optimizes inspection routines using vision system and CT scanner
3. Prepares sample parts
4. Designs and procures part staging fixtures

NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION & CUSTOMER SUPPORT

1. Assists engineering and manufacturing in the approval of new tooling, as directed
2. Performs/updates First Article Inspection (FAI) layouts, including verification and reporting
3. Performs and documents dimensional studies, including Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) and Capability Studies
4. Coordinates Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) reporting and customer submission with Quality Engineering
5. Performs/participates in special customer projects, as directed
6. Investigates customer concerns as directed by Quality Engineer or Quality Manager

DOCUMENTATION & SUSTAINING PRODUCT SUPPORT

1. Assists engineering and manufacturing to resolve existing product issues
2. Creates and maintains various quality forms and documentation (ex. Quality Inspection Plans – QIP, quality alerts, work instructions, and other manufacturing documents)
3. Creates and maintains quality procedures and work instructions, as directed by Quality Engineer or Quality Manager
4. Reviews and numbers part prints, and creates and maintains part print database & files
5. Prepares charts for historical data evaluation
6. Performs required functions within the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process
7. Updates ISO documentation as directed and approved by Quality Engineer or Quality Manager
8. Performs gage calibration, monitors outside calibration, and maintains calibration records
9. Participates in continual improvement activities (individual ideas or team participation)
10. Provides training to Quality Department personnel, as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Clearly and effectively communicates in English (verbal and written)

• Basic knowledge of standard drafting practices, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Has experience or education in injection molding or plastics industry in a quality control function and has experience with OGP systems
• Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer skills
• Regards safety as a priority
• Possesses a commitment to housekeeping and to maintain a very clean work environment
