As the Director of Supply Chain at MTU, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and efficiency. You’ll lead the implementation, execution, and sustainability of operational methodologies, ensuring quality, on-time delivery, cost-effectiveness, and strategic growth.

Candidates should have robust experience in managing daily business operations, including international supply chain, sourcing, logistics, and multi-location distribution centers. This leadership role requires overseeing technical functions, driving continuous improvement, implementing SOPs, and establishing performance metrics while fostering a culture based on MTU's values.

In this role, you will develop organizational capabilities, deliver top-tier customer service, and cultivate a culture of openness, respect, and empowerment. Ideal candidates will have a track record of mentoring high-performing teams, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate others. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, and drive strategic goals. Proficiency in technology is essential, with an expectation to become an SAP super user within 12 months.

This critical leader will successfully do the following:

• Oversee and manage the following areas: Planning, Purchasing, Packaging, Order Fulfillment, Transit activities, Facilities management (multiple sites/warehouses within the US), Materials management, Supply chain management – domestic and international
• Supply chain management
• Logistics and Distribution: Manage logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
• Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
• Supplier management including communications on forecasting, manufacturing scheduling, shipping etc.
• Oversee purchasing and supply chain globally: Facilitate, negotiate and execute long term international shipping agreements of finished goods (med devices).
• Drive cost savings initiatives in an effort to improve gross profit/margin.
• Freight forwarding: Manage relationships with freight forwarders to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods, both domestically and internationally, including negotiation of terms and oversight of customs clearance processes.
• Ensure key objectives/metrics are achieved: on-time delivery, minimization of backorders, shipping expense reduction.
• Maintain and continuously improve a robust data reporting & data analytics platform (dashboards).
• Enhance and measure effectiveness of standard operating procedures, policies, training programs, safety programs and work practices.
• Work with all departments to develop, implement, monitor, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and implement short- and long-term planning to ensure the organization is prepared to execute on volume, and other initiatives, execute successfully against those plans.
• Create and maintain dashboards and other types of reporting to track metrics and communicate updates to senior and other functional leaders.
• Anticipate and resolve problems that could impact operational success.
• Develop, implement, and monitor effectiveness of systems and procedures.
• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance operations and technology, increase capacity, standardize processes, and align MTU with future goals based on the strategic plan.
• Build capability, lead, and develop team.
• Develop bench strength for future leaders.
• Leverage formalized tools and processes to provide structured developmental support to team members: development plans, 1:1s, succession planning, etc.
• Identify critical experiences to develop individual capability, increasing commitment.
• Develop the team to assume greater responsibilities within the organization and empower them to act in the best interest of MTU.
• Participate in budgeting and other financial planning in conjunction with Finance to support business growth and operating costs reductions.
• Direct the preparation of special analyses and projects as required.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with a high tolerance for risk and uncertainty, and drive thoughtful, strategic decisions amidst resource shortages and operational challenges.
• Maintain an exceptionally lean operation while enabling scale for the entire organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
