The engineering manager plans, organizes, and directs others to meet company objectives for design, new product development and improvement of existing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Member of the executive leadership team for a long-time successful privately owned company reporting to the Company President.
· Collaborates with the executive leadership team for company quarterly, annual, and long-term planning activities.
· Plans and formulates aspects of design and new product design proposals such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be used from findings, costs of project, and equipment and human resource requirements.
· Oversees key design projects, processes and performance reports, data, and analysis. Plans documentation system.
· Selects, develops, trains, and supervises staff.
· Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvements for existing ones.
· Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as: project plans, progress reports, and staff meetings to inform management of the status of each engineering project.
· Working with the manufacturing, operations, and quality managers, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements and new product development.
· Directs the review of production costs and product quality to ensure product life cycle is maintained.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree.
· Four to six years of related experience or training.
· ISO 9001:2015 experience required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers along with specific application software.
· Duties occasionally may require working in the manufacturing, service, and warehouse areas. Personal protection equipment may be required in these areas.
· Some work locations will be typical of product operating environments including exposure to soils, moisture, loud equipment, and the presence of agricultural chemicals and petroleum products. Personal protection equipment will be required in these locations.
· Occasional overnight travel to customer locations, for training, product testing, or trade exhibitions is required.
· Job may require long periods of sitting or standing.
· Work outside and in addition to normal weekly hours may be required as job duties demand.
