As a Shift Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment in your assigned area. This is done in conjunction with production and process teams. Shift equipment technicians monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment while operating under the constant pressure inherent to a lean production facility.

Role and Responsibilities

• Learn and demonstrate the key troubleshooting skills for area equipment

• Use existing education, training, and experience to complete assigned tasks

• Investigate the root cause of improperly functioning equipment

• Understand and follow your assigned area’s detailed procedures, processes, and methods having to do with the maintenance and repair of equipment

• Work in conjunction with equipment engineers to perform modifications to existing equipment hardware and test the performance of the result

• Learn and apply any specialized tools provided for use on the assigned area's equipment

• Properly and systematically document and communicate all completed tasks

• Understand and be responsible for all metrics tied to equipment performance, maintenance, and repair

• Demonstrate an understanding of the area production processes and how a change in equipment conditions can affect those processes

• Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced environment to meet the needs of collaborators

• Willingness to learn and utilize specialized computer hardware or software to accomplish relevant tasks

• You are able to work in a collaborative team environment and independently

• Demonstrate basic meeting skills and proper meeting etiquette

• Enforce to all established safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• AAS in Electronics Engineering or equivalent, including military training preferred

• Technical hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience with industrial scale electromechanical systems and subsystems

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, and engineering sketches

• Ability and willingness to be flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience in data extraction, analysis and reporting

• Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Basic knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment

• Basic understanding and proper application of statistical process control principles

• Basic understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving at least into an algebraic level

• Basic understanding of physics and chemistry concepts and principles.
