MicroVention-Terumo is Hiring a Clinical Specialist Near Florida, NY

Provide technical, clinical, and educational support for all MicroVention products with the focus on new technologies. Provide didactic, hands-on, pre-clinical, clinical training, and case support to physicians, all hospital personnel, and customers as well as MV associates. Provide support for Marketing PM on all MicroVention products and new technologies. Lead and support sales and marketing training, clinical education, and understanding of competitive products in the neuro-interventional market. Job duties:

  • Conduct and support product/clinical education on MicroVention “best practices” with physicians on their initial use, to ensure the safe and effective outcomes for all MicroVention products.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and N.A. Sales to assist development and provide optimal technical/clinical support for product evaluations, physician new-users, challenging cases, clinical in-services and other physician training and educational support programs on all MicroVention products.
  • Conduct and support account CEU programs for product/clinical education on the initial use and support the Global Market Development team to integrate “best practices” and ensure consistency on optimal clinical techniques for product evaluations, launches, new-user training, and completion of controlled clinical trials and case series.
  • Lead research and analytics on competitive products and their potential impact on MicroVention business; provide recommendations and support for development of product positioning, education materials, and product development programs.
  • Interface with representatives from key functional groups including, but not limited to Marketing, Sales, Clinical Research, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs, to drive success of MicroVention products, development, and other programs supported by the Global Market Development team.
  • Advance new product development including physician preference testing, pre-clinical testing, evaluation of new products, and new product technical case support as needed.
  • Lead analysis and reporting on clinical performance issues and support post market surveillance as needed.
  • Lead the development of clinical education materials along with Product Marketing and Clinical Research for use by clinical, sales, and distributors globally.
  • If based remotely, travel to Aliso Viejo or meet virtually with Marketing peers and other departments at corporate headquarters, approximately twice a year for at least two full days and provide support for programs, projects, training, or customer meetings or at Key Accounts Globally as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist Global Market Development support at local, regional, and other global scientific meetings, training or marketing programs as assigned.
  • Support sales team with timely responses to clinical product and procedural questions.
  • Maintain organized and relevant files with anonymized, HIPAA-compliant case images.
  • Provide virtual/remote case support to physicians and Territory Managers, over a variety of platforms including MS Teams, Facetime, phone calls, text messages, WhatsApp, or other approved communication methods.
  • Training requirements for this job will entail complete knowledge of the entire vascular system (cardiovascular) with an extensive knowledge of neurovascular, disease processes and treatment strategies as it relates to the use of all MicroVention products, operating room/angio suite protocols, sterile techniques as it relates to endovascular treatments, blood borne pathogens as it relates to endovascular treatments, radiation protection, and familiarity with hospital departmental (neuro) policies and procedures.

What do you need:

  • Technical degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T.) CV, VI, Registered Nurse (R.N.) or Endovascular, Cardiac background with a minimum of one to three years of experience in the Angio-Suite (or equivalent) interventional procedures, with experience in neuro endovascular therapies as a technologist or nurse preferred.
  • Knowledge of complete vascular anatomy (cardiovascular system) and physiology with an extensive focus on knowledge of neuro anatomy and physiology.
  • Capability and flexibility to travel to hospitals and participate in clinical case coverage as well as training/Marketing/Sales events worldwide.
  • Requires extensive travel: local, regional, national and some global (75%-80% of the time).
  • Understanding of project management, clinical study project, trials, and personnel management.
  • Capable of effectively interfacing/communicating with sales staff, cross-functional MicroVention teams, and worldwide distributor organizations.
  • Moderate computer and iPad skills with working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and maintaining customer databases.
  • Extremely reliable and dependable.
  • Knowledge of complete cardiovascular vascular anatomy with a focus on neurovascular.
  • Neurovascular/Peripheral catheterization knowledge, techniques, and skills.
  • Ability to recognize normal and abnormal disease processes as it relates to clinical cases and the use of MicroVention products.
  • Ability to effectively articulate product use, concepts, outcomes, and clinical advantages.
  • Ability to effectively interface with physicians, staff, and hospital administration.
  • Ability to effectively interface with Sales, Marketing peers, R&D, Engineering, and Clinical Research staff.
