Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with company policies and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization's compliance requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance in various areas, such as finance, operations, and human resources.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues or violations.
- Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory agencies as required.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends in compliance.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a compliance role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Bank Secrecy Act Officer Certification (CBAP)
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and practices.
- NCCO, CUCE, and/or CUERME highly desired
- Familiarity with ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions and related regulations.
- Technical accounting skills, including the ability to interpret financial statements and analyze financial data.
- Experience working with credit unions or financial institutions is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of internal audit processes and controls, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and other relevant auditing standards.
- Understanding of fair housing regulations is a plus.
