MEDICAL REVIEW NURSE
Ridgeland, Mississippi

Mid South Rehab Services, Inc, Ridgeland, Mississippi, is hiring a full-time Medical Review Nurse to join our Compliance/HIM TEAM. The Medical Review Nurse is a licensed RN or LPN professional who complies with all applicable laws and regulations. This position provides indirect patient care services. Experience in a rehab therapy setting is a plus.

Principal Job Responsibilities

• Ensures conformance of all rehabilitation departments to appropriate legal and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain continuity of policy adherence throughout rehabilitation services.
• Audits and screens documentation and review criteria and provides in-service training for Employee Partners.
• Communicates with Directors of Rehabilitation regarding any concerns or issues of documentation, charting or patient’s progress.
• Conducts new employee training programs for Therapists, and Therapist Assistants.
• Develops instructional materials for special training and new procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information, employee information and other confidential information covered by regulations or professional ethics.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, workshops, and in-service meetings, etc.
• Follows company expectations regarding HIPAA/Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• One (1) year experience as an RN in reviewing or surveying patient’s charts or three (3) years of experience as an LPN reviewing or surveying patient’s charts
• Current RN or LPN license by the State and in good standing with the Board of Nursing
• General Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer documentation guidelines
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must possess excellent organizational, time management, and leadership abilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
