- Optimize network infrastructure by designing system configuration, installation, and enforcing system standards.
- Design and execute short and long-term strategic plans for infrastructure capacity.
- Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems, performing root-cause analysis on outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with the team.
- Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining professional networks.
- Research new products, enhance configuration standards and best practices, and educate team members.
- Schedule off-hour upgrades and projects to prevent business interruption.
- Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
- Work with external vendors on connectivity services.
- Employ analysis and design techniques to identify common issues with IT peers and the management team.
- Develop and maintain processes and standards based on best practices for effective and sustainable delivery and support of IT infrastructure.
- Ability to work on-site at our Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin office and ability to be on-call.
- Bachelor's degree in network communications and/or a minimum of 5 years of Network Administration in enterprise environments.
- Experience in designing high-availability enterprise networks with multiple locations and data centers.
- Experience connecting cloud solutions with on-premises data centers.
- Solid decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with routing, multi-layer switching, firewalls, and virtual private networks.
- Experience with designs, installations, site surveys, and troubleshooting of wireless systems.
- Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and develop junior team members and possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to analyze the technical needs of multiple divisions and departments within the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
