DescriptionMiddleGround Capital (“MiddleGround”) is a private equity firm headquartered in Lexington, KY with two additional global offices (New York; Amsterdam), that invests in B2B companies in the industrial and specialty distribution sectors in the middle-market. We are differentiated as true operators who have experience working in, and managing businesses that range from the lower middle-market to Fortune-500 companies. The firm currently has $3.5B assets under management and 22 portfolio companies.
The RoleAs a Summer Analyst within the Investment Team, you will gain hands-on experience with our deal team supporting various New Deal and Portfolio Company workstreams. This will include financial and business due diligence, modeling, and industry research to identify potential investment opportunities. In addition, you will support the Deal Team on portfolio company managing and value creation plan execution. You will be assisting your team in a 12-week project outlined at the beginning of your internship, with a final presentation at the end of the term.

- Rising Junior (just finishing your Sophomore year)
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Banking, Business, or a related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.3 preferred
- Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), transaction advisory, or related fields a plus
- Ability to adapt and be an “athlete” in a high-impact dynamic setting
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing all deliverables, including models, reports, and presentations
- Collaborates and communicates with internal stakeholders in a team environment
- A "figure-it-out attitude” with strong self-initiative, and a willingness to learn
- Takes feedback earnestly and strives to continuously improve
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week during the summer
- Must be able to be onsite and in-office, either in Lexington, KY or New York City (currently MiddleGround is unable to sponsor relocation or housing)
