The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (MSO) is seeking qualified candidates for our Youth Public Safety Academy (YPSA). The goal of the YPSA is to establish respect and trust between children and law enforcement professionals. Coordinators/Counselors will help children build confidence and work as a team while focusing on the duties and responsibilities of law enforcement personnel. Duties: Under direct supervision of the YPSA Director and/or Senior Counselor, the Support Crew/Coordinator must be able to work from 6:30AM to 4:30PM (flexible hours) Monday- Friday at the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office YPSA located in Chelmsford, MA. Responsible for coordinating with the MSO food service department regarding food orders, and ensuring there are adequate supplies for the YPSA on a weekly basis. Must also prepare and serve food. Coordinators/Counselors work on a contractual seasonal basis from June 24, 2024 through August 9, 2024. Must work well with children in a positive educational environment and have the ability to teach 9, 10, 11, and 12 year old children about public safety. Perform other related work as needed. Qualifications:
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. The applicant must have an active valid driver’s license, the right to legally operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts, pass a criminal background check and subject to mandatory random drug testing.Hourly Rate:$17.00. No additional compensation or benefits offered.
