Title: Secondary Spanish Teacher
 
Job Summary:The Secondary Spanish Teacher will be responsible for teaching Spanish language courses to middle and high school students. This individual will integrate a biblical worldview into the curriculum, create a positive learning environment, and inspire students to develop a love for the Spanish language and culture.
Lines of Authority:Reports to the Secondary Principal
Education:Bachelor’s Degree Required

Essential FunctionsEssential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned.

Instructional Duties:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Spanish lessons that align with the school's curriculum and academic standards.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including interactive activities, technology, and real-life applications, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, projects, and oral presentations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and support them in achieving their academic goals.

Classroom Management:

  • Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
  • Address student behavior issues promptly and appropriately, in accordance with school policies.

Spiritual Integration:

  • Incorporate a biblical worldview into lesson plans and classroom discussions.
  • Model Christian values and behaviors in interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Lead or participate in devotional activities, prayer sessions, and other spiritual development opportunities for students.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
  • Stay current with developments in Spanish education and continuously seek to improve teaching practices.
Spiritual Development
  • Lead daily prayer/devotional time, integrating biblical teachings into classroom discussions.
  • Model Christ-like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Facilitate opportunities for students to explore and deepen their faith.
Parent Communication and Collaboration:
  • Establish open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians to support student learning and spiritual development.
  • Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences and other school events.
Professional Development:
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated on current instructional strategies and best practices in education and faith-based pedagogy.
  • Incorporate Bible stories, Christian values, and character education into daily lessons.
Professional Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administrators regarding academic progress, athletic performance and any concerns or issues.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience and a supportive school community.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
  • Attend work regularly and is punctual.
  • Serve at extra-curricular events as needed
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth in both teaching and coaching roles.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
