General Summary
This position is responsible for selling the Company's products to new and existing commercial customers. Customers may include architects, developers, general contracts, masons, and/or others. The position has no supervision responsibility, and reports to the EVP, Sales.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Makes sales calls and product presentations to architects, engineers, and developers in order to educate and promote the use of all manufacturers’ products distributed by the Company, and to encourage the selection and specification of products by these target customers. Delivers samples to architects and contractors as required.
Prepares, tracks, and follows up on quotations for specified projects. Maintains awareness of the status of projects, from early planning through awarding of masonry contracts, with the goal of securing purchase orders for as many products as possible.
Pursues all projects listed as additions or retrofits that may have use for our products but do not contain specification(s) for particular product(s).
Establishes and maintains strong business relationships with prospective, current, and past customers in the designated territory to increase the opportunity for sales. Schedules and executes “lunch and learns” and other presentations for architects and other stakeholders.
Maintains appropriate contact with Consolidated Brick’s Customer Service staff once an order is placed to ensure the successful completion of the order, and to promote the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Job Specifications
Product sales skills and a thorough understanding of the company's product offerings.
Prior experience with specification-based sales preferred.
Strong relationship-building and negotiations skills.
Ability to make presentations to groups of architect and other stakeholders.
A valid driver’s license and clean driving history, and the ability to travel extensively (almost no overnight travel) within assigned territory.
Computer literacy.
