Commercial Services Product Manager

Salary Range: $86,100 - $114,700 annually

At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare, well-being benefits, paid family leave as well as generous paid time off. Total Rewards also include banking perks, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K plan with company match and may include the opportunity to participate in our Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation plan. Position Summary

The Commercial Services Product Manager will lead the Company's overall bank initiative to grow core deposits and Treasury Management services. Develops, enhances and implements a full array of Treasury Management services including, but not limited to; eBanking services, Payments Solutions, Depository Products, and Receivables Solutions. Stays informed of rules, regulations, changes and trends in the industry for depository and Treasury Management services. Ensures the bank remains competitive in the market and compliant with rules and regulations. Demonstrates expert understanding of the capabilities and value proposition of assigned products

Primary Accountabilities

Responsible for managing multiple projects with limited oversight, gathering requirements, writing business requirements documents, creating and managing project plans, managing issues and risks. Responsible for interfacing with the Treasury Management Sales team, Operations, IT, Marketing, Compliance and other areas inside and outside of the bank as needed.

  • Responsible for understanding the Treasury & Payment Solutions market and defining product needs to support growth objectives for Midland States Bank.
  • Provides leadership and subject matter expertise on strategic projects related to Treasury Management services (and evolution of capabilities).
  • Develops annual business plan with Manager to set goals, service expectations, market strategy, competitive advantage and tracks progress to plan.
  • Creates product reports, monitors and tracks success of Treasury Management products
  • Oversight and governance of business case development and functionality requirements for new products and product enhancements.
  • Responsible for implementation and roll-out process for new business products and product enhancements, including agreements, implementation documents, and standards.
  • Design product marketing, pricing, and distribution strategy for assigned products.
  • The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
  • May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Relationship Management

  • Partners with the commercial and retail teams to build a proactive banking culture that encourages cross-selling of Deposit and Treasury Management services.
  • Confirm sales teams are prepared to sell product / service (provide marketing, pricing, training)
  • Communicates launch date for products and enhancements with all stakeholders.
  • Responds to questions in a professional manner that conveys competence, respect, and the value of the relationship.
  • Acts as a go to person for product development and product assistance regarding functionality, use and value proposition.
  • Develops responses to Request for Proposals or bids, including pricing for Treasury Management services.

Risk Management and Control

  • Follows security and safeguard procedures to insure appropriate due diligence in accordance with Midland States Bank policy for the prevention of loss due to fraud, robbery, counterfeiting, money laundering or defalcation.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of both customer and Bank information ensuring compliance with Bank Policies & Procedures.
  • Understands risks and takes appropriate actions as they relate to TPS products, including all documentation, and any other requirements to maintain operational integrity.
  • Ensures operational integrity and compliance with all regulatory bodies.

Change and Innovation

  • Continuously upgrades skills and optimizes usage of tools provided to deliver high-quality service to the Treasury Management sales team and all stakeholders.
  • Continuously identifies opportunities to streamline / improve processes.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices.

Position Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 8 years of experience in a banking environment
  • CTP (Certified Treasury Professional), AAP (Accredited ACH Professional), or APRP (Accredited Payments Risk Professional) certification preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of online banking, deposit products and business account offerings required
  • Demonstrated history of Product Marketing and Management Strategy development and execution
  • Conversant with relevant consumer and commercial banking regulations
  • Thorough understanding of Risk Management principals and the impact new product development has within the bank’s infrastructure.
  • Highly customer oriented and responsive
