Midland States Bank is Hiring a Treasury Analyst Near Champaign, IL

Pay Range: $22-$26/hourAt Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare, well-being benefits, paid family leave as well as generous paid time off. Total Rewards also include banking perks, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K plan with company match and may include the opportunity to participate in our Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation plan. Position SummaryThe Treasury Analyst is responsible for maintaining the operational records and assisting with the month-end close process for the assigned entities. In addition, this role will oversee the coordination and reconciliation of daily activity through the Treasury platform regarding cash, security, and debt movement for the bank and the company. This position is an individual contributor role.
Primary Accountabilities
  • Collaborates with colleagues to address Treasury requests efficiently.
  • Produces and efficiently files all required management and board reports.
  • Maintains and controls bank account balances including daily account reconciliation, intra-day, and overnight cash balances.
  • Develops and maintains controls to ensure daily liquidity needs are met and reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner.
  • Assists with month-end close process for assigned entities, reviewing financial results for accuracy before supervisory approval.
  • Settles and reconciles payments for various investments and debt obligations of the bank and holding company.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between safekeeping and bond accounting agents, as well as brokers and dealers.
  • Assists with projects related to treasury and other financial areas.
  • The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
  • May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with fixed income securities and derivative cash flows, settlements, and reconciliations.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
