Midland is Hiring a Support Manager (Residential, Group Homes) Near Branchburg, NJ

Support Manager

INTRODUCTION

The Support Manager role is responsible for the supervision of a residential home for adult men and/or women with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as complex medical and behavioral support needs. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for client assessment, staff training, scheduling, supervision and maintenance of records, including Electronic Health Records (EHR).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching and Behavioral Support

  • Ensure that the residence conveys the feeling that this is the individual’s home, their rights are upheld, they are given responsibilities within the home and they are active in making decisions about their home;
  • Act as liaison, advocate and coordinator for involvement in support groups;
  • Train, monitor and develop staff performance management goals, evaluations and development plans;
  • Assist in building a support network between individuals and community members;
  • Utilize Crisis Intervention Techniques, when appropriate.

Administrative

  • Complete required documentation, including UIR documentation, Medication Administration Records (MAR), Electronic Health Record (EHR) system;
  • Review and monitor with health and medical care for individuals, as needed;
  • Reporting and monitoring of home and vehicle maintenance;
  • Monitor and maintain financing of group homes;
  • Monitor and maintain financing of individuals, if needed;
  • Monitor and documentation of residential operations of group homes;
  • Development and monitoring of staff scheduling for group homes, in compliance with staff ratios;
  • Ensure the recreational and leisure interests of the individuals are followed;
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings;
  • Work with families/guardians to ensure quality services are being delivered.

Other

  • Knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook;
  • Ability to utilize computer software programs, including the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system;
  • Assist in the lifting and transferring of individuals, when needed;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older;
  • High School diploma, three (3) years’ experience in a Division of Developmental Disabilities (“DDD”) program with Supervisory experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of State Licensing and DDD regulations;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (driver’s abstract is conditional on hire);
  • Ability to establish comfortable and supportive relationships;
  • Prior experience working with intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals (more than 1 year is highly preferred);
  • Self-motivated team players with a positive, energetic and professional demeanor is highly preferred;
  • Must be able to complete all required residential training/certification and successfully maintain training/certification(s) throughout tenure with Midland;
  • Attend conferences and seminars as related to the role and organization;
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods;
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
