MidSouth Pain Treatment Center is Hiring a Part-time Medical Laboratory Technician Near Southaven, MS

MidSouth Pain Treatment Center, a PartnerCare affiliated company, is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician, to join our growing and established practice in Southaven, MS.

Our practice focuses on taking care of the patient with a comprehensive plan, delivering high customer service, keeping patients safe and well-informed and reducing patients' pain as much as possible.

Our mission is to deliver comprehensive care to help musculoskeletal and pain management patients live their best lives possible. Our team of physicians, nurses, anesthesiologists, and staff are dedicated to ensuring that patients can improve their quality of life with pain relief that involves the use of cutting-edge technology.

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am-12:00pm

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Conducting various laboratory tests and analyses on biological specimens, such as blood, urine, and tissue samples, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring accuracy and precision in test results.
  • Following established protocols and procedures to perform tests, interpret results, and report findings to healthcare professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate records of test results, quality control data, and laboratory procedures.
  • Monitoring inventory levels of reagents, supplies, and equipment, and replenishing as needed to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others in the laboratory.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to provide timely and accurate laboratory results to aid in patient care.
  • Participating in continuing education and professional development activities to stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and methodologies.
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the laboratory to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and patient care outcomes.
  • Assisting in research projects and clinical trials by performing laboratory tests and analyses as required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science is preferred; however, graduation from a clinical laboratory training program with 2 years of laboratory testing experience is also accepted.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Immunoassay or testing is desirable.
  • Familiarity with LCMS methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience in confirmation sample preparation/extraction is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is beneficial.
  • Applicants must be either a US citizen or eligible to work in the US for any employer.

MPTC has become one of the largest practices in the Western Tennessee and Northern Mississippi region, with locations in Oxford, MS, Tupelo, MS, Jackson, TN, and Cordova, TN. MidSouth provides a broad range of interventional pain management services with top procedures including lumbar, thoracic, surgical branch blocks, radio frequency nerve ablation, medial nerve blocks, and epidural injections, among others.
