Midtown Community Health is Hiring a Dental Hygienist Near Clearfield, UT
Job Title: Dental Hygienist Rate of Pay: $35.00 per hour depending on experience Schedule: Part-time, 10-20 hours per week Benefits: Matching 403b retirement plan General Description: Assist the Dental Provider in the provision of dental services to patients. Communicate with patients to ensure their understanding of dental treatment planning. Maintain the dental oratories and lab materials using appropriate sterilization and safety techniques. Responsibilities:
Understand, promote, and educate staff on all UPFH policies and clinical protocols
Assess patient's medical history, obtain clinical evidence of patient's levels of periodontal health
Provide prophylaxis, dental x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, patient education, perio-scaling, root planning, and other medications as required
Deliver appropriate local anesthesia as requested by and under the supervision of a dentist
Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs
Ensure the completion of paperwork by the patients
Maintain computerized patient medical and treatment records and proper documentation with confidentiality
Recognize emergencies
Maintain current knowledge of dental materials, dental procedures, occupational safety protocols and sterilization/disinfecting procedures
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene school. A Utah Dental Hygiene License required. Current certification in BLS required. 2 years' experience as a Dental Hygienist in a health care center, medical office, or equivalent is preferred. Other Skills: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written in English and Spanish preferred. Ability to handle delicate equipment, knowledge of dental instruments and equipment procedures. Knowledge of medication used in conjunction with dental hygiene work. Knowledge of computer applications and equipment related to work. Knowledge of technical dental practices, filling preparations, sterilization techniques and lab procedures. Ability to assess verbal presentations of patients. Knowledge of office routines, basic office equipment and computers, and dental record keeping procedures. Ability to build interpersonal relationships and deliver excellent customer service. Critical thinking and decision-making skills. Time management and organizational skills.
