Midwest Photo is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Columbus, OH

We seek a part-time Human Resources Generalist to join Midwest Photo. The ideal candidate will manage our employee lifecycle, support managers, contribute to building a strong company culture, and coordinate benefits and payroll administration. Principal Duties:

  • Manage the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Provide HR support to employees and managers, including advising on HR policies, resolving employee relations issues, and conducting necessary investigations.
  • Build and maintain a strong company culture through employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team-building activities.
  • Administer benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Manage the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the company's goals.
  • Conduct regular HR audits to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience as an HR Coordinator or Generalist.
  • Experience with benefit and payroll management.
  • Developed knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to implement new ideas and initiatives.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification through SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Experience with Paylocity.
  • Experience in the retail industry.

Work Conditions:

  • Work indoors at a desk for 85% of the time. This will involve sitting, repetitive hand motions to move a computer mouse, and working at a computer screen for most of the workday.
  • Spend 15% of the time in meetings with management and staff.
  • Additional on-site and off-site work may be required (indoors and outdoors) as needed.
  • This position requires an average of walking, reaching, and lifting/loading up to 15 pounds daily.
  • This position is an in-store, non-remote position.
